Why We Worship
1. Why do we worship God?
"...Worship the Lord you God, and serve Him only." Matthew 4:10
2. How should we praise/worship God?
“I will praise you, O Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever.” Psalm 86:12
“I will extol the LORD at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.” Psalm 34:1
3. Why do we praise God out loud?
"Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy." Psalm 33:3
“Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Ephesians 5:19-20
4. Why do some people lift their hands?
"I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands." Psalm 63:4
"I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing." 1Timothy 2:8
5. Why use musical instruments?
“Four thousand are to be gatekeepers and four thousand are to praise the LORD with the musical instruments I have provided for that purpose.” 1 Chronicles 23:5
"Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise Him with the harp and lyre, praise Him with tambourine and dancing, praise Him with the strings and flute, praise Him with the clash of cymbals." Psalm 150:3-5
6. Why do people shout and get loud sometimes?
“My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you— I, whom you have redeemed.” Psalm 71:23
“…the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen.” Luke 19:37
7. Why do we have a dance ministry?
"Praise the Lord. Sing to the Lord a new song, His praise in the assembly of the saints... Let them praise His name with dancing and make music to Him with tambourine and harp." Psalm 149:1-3
